Perhaps you’ve had problems growing tomatoes, you’d like to try your hand at growing potatoes or sowing your own seeds?

Would you like to start up a community garden, are looking for tips on how to garden for your local women’s or community group? Are you a community or family resource centre looking to run a vegetable workshop?

Or maybe you’d like some vegetable garden landscaping advice, have a hankering for some raised beds or would like to make your own compost?

If you’ve answered yes to any of those questions then we can help.

We offer several services – some private, some funded which enable us to do this.

We show people how to garden without the use of chemicals, encourage wildlife and biodiversity, whilst protecting our environment and the world we live in.

Thankfully growing your own food is making a revival as people become more budget and environmentally aware. Being outside in the fresh air, sowing seeds, watching them grow, eating and sharing the harvest can be very empowering. When you’re used to relying on shops and supermarkets to chose and provide your food for you, growing your own can be a hugely satisfying experience.

So if you haven’t already started maybe this is the year to begin, and we’re here to help.

Our Services

Some of the services we offer to cater for all budgets include:

Workshops.

Visits to homes, allotments or community groups offering general advice, support and suggestions to help people start up or better manage their plots.

Comprehensive packs tailored to individual vegetable growing circumstances.

Full landscaping service that will prepare an area ready for vegetable production.

General Advice

If you've started a vegetable garden and would like advice on growing your own, or require more general information about setting up a garden at your own site, contact Greenside Up for a quotation.

Design

This service will take you step-by-step through all your home grown fruit and vegetable requirements.

It includes:

Site assessment and advice on clearing the ground and soil preparation.

Proposed layout and plan, including recommendations for the best crops.

Information on pests, diseases and weeds, enabling fruit and vegetables to be grown without the use of artificial herbicides and pesticides.

Advice on composting.

Crop rotation plan.

A monthly planner suggesting times for sowing, planting and harvesting.

Other Services

For customers who require a 'ready made' vegetable garden, a full landscaping service is available that, subject to requirements, might include:

Design service.
Pathways.
Deep or raised beds.
Fruit bushes and trees.
Compost areas.

Planting, pruning and caring for all types of trees, including evergreen.

After Service

Once you've become a Greenside Up customer it doesn't stop there - we don't leave you to work the rest out for yourself. If desired you can be added to our mailing list where we email periodic updates and jobs to do.
